This could be a very interesting ruling. Cheryl Perich, a Michigan Lutheran school teacher, took an extended leave-of-absence because of narcolepsy, "an excessive urge to sleep at inopportune times." She tried to return to the classroom but the school fired her instead. What was the reason? Her school expects teachers to display exemplary character. Perich is considered a "ministerial" employee because she teaches in a Lutheran school that is attached to a church. This case was accepted for review by the US Supreme Court. I will keep an eye out on this case.
Did she just sleep it off?
